I bet, none of the other servers in the whole internet will be this much slow as IRCTC’s website at the peak timing. Indian government should award the person who successfully able to book tatkal tickets from IRCTC website within the time frame of 10AM to 11AM. Its too much of hassle for Indians to book tatkal tickets online as they end up with Internal server error or connection timeout errors. I will suggest you some tips to improve the speed to book your next tatkal ticket from IRCTC.

First of all lets talk why IRCTC sleeps at peak time : Service from Indian Government. low performance servers, No maintenance. Server is not able to handle more than 10k inbounds in 5 minutes as stated by government authority.

You will find some websites suggest to use autofill browsers plugins, no doubt, it will help in increasing speed of your booking. But what if the website doesn’t opens? You can only use this trick if you get rid of Internal server error or connection timeout errors.

The best method to speed up the process is by sensible use of Proxy servers. Follow these steps just 15 minutes before the IRCTC tatkal booking opening.

Get your IRCTC account ready.

Get your browser fill with autofill form plugins (I wont suggest that, and if you want, google it you will find the method)

Hunt for the faster Proxy server. Your proxy server should be Delhi Based. There are too many free proxy servers available. you just need to Google away. or here is the list.

Configure that proxy server in your browser. See below for the steps to set the proxy server in your Firefox browser.

Surf faster IRCTC.

Note : You need to choose faster proxy server so you must tryout different IPs and check your download speed through that proxy IP. I suggest you to perform all these steps prior an hour.

How to set the proxy IP in your Firefox Browser.

Step 1: Get one Delhi based Open Proxy IP from the link i stated above.

Step 2: Open Firefox

Step 3: Tools > Option.

Step 4: Go to Advance tab, click on Settings button on Connections option.

Step 5: Check the Manual Proxy Configuration radio button.

Step 6: Enter your Proxy IP and port in HTTP Proxy field.

Step 7: Click Ok and Exit the Settings window.

Step 8: check your download speed from the same browser.

Step 9: if download speed is not satisfying, Goto Step 1 and hunt for another proxy IP until you find the faster one.

After all these work, surf IRCTC and you will get faster response. Do let me know if you need further help.

Windows Azure Media Services provide a selection of services for encoding and protecting streaming media such as videos and music. Drop off your high-resolution source content and convert it to multiple bit rates for playback on a variety of devices. Stream to HD, DVD and phones.

Windows Azure Mobile Services is a turnkey backend solution running on Windows Azure servers that offers functions such as saving data, querying, managing identity and pushing notifications to phone. Additionally, you can run scripts on the server to execute custom logic when doing CRUD operations.

Windows Azure Virtual Machines can run both Windows and Linux operating systems. Create VMs from Virtual Hard Disk images stored as blobs. Create VHDs locally and upload them, choose from a stock gallery or modify a running VM and save the image to your personal gallery.

You can view my previous article in which i have described the Steps to Create a virtual machine in Windows Azure.

With Windows Azure Web Sites, you can share space in a VM or reserve an entire machine for your web site. You can create sites with both SQL Database and MySQL databases, as well as deploy popular open source software from a gallery. You can use the slider on the Windows Azure portal to scale out to more instances.

What if your watch will display you whatever you ask, just like siri on iPhone or Google Now on Android. Yes, Google is on the verge to develop a smartphone based on latest Google technology which will contain touch and voice recognition features.

How about a smartwatch which will display the time, as well as current whether, location, your google+ profile and the whole features which is being imported by Google Now. Last time Google has introduced something cool with Google Glasses but unfortunately it didn’t stand a bit in the market. This might effect the popularity of the upcoming smartwatch as many of the vendors developed this kind of device which can even track your physical strength. Google is already having this feature on Smartphones but seems like this is the new hope for something bigger might come out.

Adrian Maciburko saw a vision and using the Google Design language, he developed a concept which seems simply a nice idea and might come with the great success in near future.

Before joining into any company, this question may appear in any context of the interview process. Before making any commitment you need to notice the occurrence of the question, either at the initial screening or near the end of the interview process. If it’s asked at the beginning, the employer may want to know if it’s even worth talking to you, given your salary expectations, or the employer may genuinely have no idea what the position should pay. If you cant escape this question in the early stage of an interview, try to give a range of salaries the amount that you want at the low end. This gives you good bargaining room later.

If you are asked the question near the end of the process, this can only indicates good things. If the interviewer has no interest in hiring you at this point, he wont bother you asking you this question. Generally, larger companies have less latitude in compensation packages than smaller companies. If you are asked this question, it probably indicates the company is willing to negotiate.

Before getting in to the loophole, you must be clear yourself about particular terms and the bargaining procedure.

+ What is CTC? (Click to expand).

CTC refers to “COST TO COMPANY “. This includes Gross Salary + incentives and benefits which includes many things like meal, medical facilities, phone facilities, accommodation, travel allowance etc.

It’s important to do your homework ahead of time when answering this question. First, if you find that people with simmilar jobs in your area are making 3 to 3.5 Lacks per year, you are not probably going to make 6L a year. Second, Never undersell yourself. If you are looking for an annual salary of 4L, don’t tell an employer that you are looking for 3.5L a year. Third, consider carefully what you want in local compensation package.

in general, try not to tip your hand too early when answering this question. Instead of answering a question about salary directly, ask what range the interviewer is prepared to offer. There are four possible answer to your question.

First, the range is about what you expected. In this case, you can usually gain slightly higher salary but following this rules: First, Try not to act too excited – Stay Cool, Next, say you had a slightly higher range in mind and present the new range in front of the interviewer.

The second possibility is that the negotiator starts with a range higher than you expected. Bingo, this is great!

In the third case, the negotiator may not answer your question. He or she may give a response like “We have a wide range of salaries depending on the applicant. What are you expecting?” This response is quite favorable because it indicates that he or she has the authority to pay you a comparative salary.

Avoid weaker expressions like “I’m hoping for….” or “I’d really like……” Just say your range confidently like “I’m expecting….”.

The forth option is that the offer may be less than you expected. In this case, here are some tactics to try to increase the offer. First, re-emphasize your skills and state the salary range you were expecting. You can say that “I’ve to admit I’m little disappointed with that offer. Given my extensive knowledge and contributions I can make to this company, I’m expecting salary of 4L a year.“

At this stage he or she will often cite one of the following three reasons:

The amount wasn’t budgeted.

Similar employees at the company don’t make that much.

Your experience doesn’t warrant such salary.

None of these is an acceptable reason. First, the budget may be a constraint on the company, but it should’t be a constraint on your salary. If the company really wants you, it will find money and a way around this artificial barrier. If the company truly can’t find the money, it’s such a crash-strapped, close-to-death organization that you probably don’t want to work there anyway.

Here are other few final thoughts on salary issue. Some people are embarrassed or shy about talking about salary. You should realize that you’re already looking to engage in a business relationship, and salary is just one more part of the picture. No employee expects you to work for free, and there’s no reason you should act as if compensation isn’t important.

I have compiled this article on the basis of my personal experience and excerpts from the book “Programming Interviews Exposed – John Mongan”

Just remember my mantra “Be confidant and don’t express yourself, sell yourself.” All the best.

Why are manhole covers round rather than square?

Why do mirror reverse right and left instead of up and down?

On the average, how many times would you have to flip open the Manhattan phone book to find a specific name?

How do you cut a rectangular cake into two equal pieces when someone has already removed a rectangular piece from it? The removed piece can be of any size or orientation. You are allowed just one straight cut.

In the previous article on WordPress deployment over Windows Azure, I gave a clear overview about the Azure platform and the new WebSite feature which makes the installation of PHP coded custom scripts and wide range of open source CMSs. In this article I will give you an idea about the installation process of Windows Azure virtual machines.

you need to navigate to Windows Azure Management portal and click on +NEW sign located at the bottom left corner.

Select the Virtual machine option from the list and you have to choose an option between “Quick Create” and “From Gallery”.

Galley provides some wide range of operating system list where you can find Linux and Ubuntu servers too.

Choose any of the operating environment and click on NEXT arrow.

Next screen will allow you to set the Virtual Machine name, Login credential and the size of the Virtual Machine.

After that you need to set up the virtual machine mode. This section will allow you to set a custom DNSfor that virtual machine and the storage account. The region specifies where your Virtual machine will belongs to. After setting all the option, Click on Next arrow.

Next screen will allow you to set the availability set. Availability set defines the secondary instance and if your primary virtual machine fails than this availability set will be available for the service at any time.

When you click the next arrow, Windows Azure starts provisioning your Virtual machine. Provisioning mean setting up the storage account and installing virtual operating system on the disk. Just wait for 4 to 5 mins and your virtual machine will be up for the service.

To manage the virtual machine you will need a remote desktop connection. You don’t need to worry about this thing, just click the connect button located at the lower bar and your remote desktop connection will be started automatically.

Article title seems quite interesting but before getting into the process, lets get familiar about the Windows Azure and the Cloud. Windows Azure is a cloud computing platform totally managed at high end Microsoft data centers. It provides a set of services that allows development, management, and hosting of applications off-premises and your application can be accessible from every corner of the world. Every blob hosted on the Azure storage is replicated into two or more servers which can be located at the diffident geographic locations to provide better accessibility of the content. Many organization prefer Cloud hosting over traditional hosting due to its extraordinary features although it costs little bit higher.

Any PHP coded website can be hosted on Azure servers through 2 ways. In the first traditional process developers need to transform their PHP application to the compatible Azure format using Windows Azure ADK for PHP and then the deployment process starts. This process is very lengthy and time consuming because developer needs to configure their PHP application accordingly to get compatible with Azure. To get rid of this, Microsoft has recently launched the service – Windows Azure Web Sites, which is still in Customer technical preview (CTP) and provides limited amount of configuration.

In this article I will explain the step by step procedure to host WordPress blog using Windows Azure Web Sites preview. Before getting started I assume you have a Windows Azure subscription. If not, you can have a free 3 months trial.

Windows Azure web sites gallery provides wide range of open source application which can be deployed on Windows Azure. Fortunately WordPress is in the list.

Windows Azure Web Sites is provided as a Preview Feature and after getting the free trial account you need to activate that preview feature. Follow the step.

After activating the preview feature you will get the notification Email from Microsoft about the activation within a day or two.

Finally you have deployed your very own WordPress blog over the cloud. Navigate to your blog using the URL you provided in the Step 5.

If you are having any technical difficulties on the deployment process, feel free to comment below.

Happy Cloud Computing.
