All about Windows 7 BranchCache

Now a days transfer of Application and data access over WAN is slow in Branch Offices. By this nature of slow connection which results the dissatisfaction of  user and on their productivity though improving network performance is expensive and difficult to implement.

The Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2 operating systems introduce BranchCache, which enables content from file and Web servers on a wide area network (WAN) to be cached on computers at a local branch office. It not only speeds up access to data and documents from Web and file servers by reducing web and file access over a WAN link, it frees up bandwidth over the WAN link for other uses.

Windows 7 release date delayed

Long time back i have posted about the release date of Windows 7 RTM which was coming on 24th for MSDN and Technet subscribers.

According to latest news on WindowsTeamBlog, Windows 7 RTM scheduled at the end of July that this will be launched on August 6th.

Another 7600 RTM branch build compiled yesterday

I had posted earlier about the rumors that Microsoft had compiled its RTM build at 10 july. But recent news says that another new 7600 RTM branch build is compiled yesterday i.e on 13th july.

Build Tag : 6.1.7600.16385.win7_rtm.090713-1255

According to the latest news Windows 7 RTM has not yet been signed off, so i think this will not be the final RTM build.

Previous build tag was : 6.1.7600.16384.win7_rtm.090710-1945 (which was compiled on 10th july)

Microsoft is cooking Windows 7 Service pack 1 Beta

We have earlier posted about Windows 7 RTM which would be releasing on 24th for MSDN and MS Connect users and about Windows 8 which is already in compilation stage at backstage, Microsoft is also cooking Service pack 1 beta for windows 7. Not sure but i have got the news that SP1 Beta is expected to release in January 2010.
